4 Ways to Make The Most of a Small Wedding

If your wedding was cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you’re not alone. Many brides are marrying in smaller “micro-weddings,” postponing full-size celebrations until later, while others are simply downsizing their events altogether, and still others have opted for an elopement. No matter how you’ve chosen to handle your plans, you can still make the most of your COVID-19 wedding. Here are a few of our top tips for our clients:

Wear something you love.

Be sure to wear something you love, even if it's a small wedding.

If you’re eloping or marrying at the last minute, a fancy wedding dress may not be in the cards for you. But that doesn’t mean you should just wear any old thing — your wedding is still a special, once-in-a-lifetime moment. Wear something that makes you feel amazing and confident so that you glow on this special day! Whether it’s a dress or a pair of shoes, make sure you feel as special as your big day will be.

Have someone take pictures.

Whenever things happen at the last minute, we’re bound to forget something. But don’t forget to have someone capture your special moment. Call your friend who has a nice camera or one of our favorite Austin photographers, and make sure someone is there to get it all on film.

You can still have amazing food!

Just because you aren’t booking a wedding venue a year in advance doesn’t mean you can’t have amazing food at your micro-wedding. Our drop-off and pick-up catering options are perfect for less advanced notice, since you only need to order a minimum of seven days in advance (orders are subject to availability). There are plenty of options on those menus to ensure that even a last minute affair feels special with minimal effort.

Make the most of a downsized wedding on a full-size budget.

With fewer guests, you may be looking forward to saving some money on your wedding, but consider spending some of the leftover funds on small luxuries that make a big difference. An elevated menu or a luxurious lounge area at your backyard celebration can make your event more memorable, even if you can’t have all of your guests there.

As a catering company in Austin, Texas, we’ve seen weddings in all shapes and sizes. But at the end of the day, what makes any wedding worth celebrating remains the same: love.
